Mental Health Matters Purchased by Carron Consulting

Mental Health Matters was purchased by Carron Consulting on October 1, 2010. While the ownership of the website has changed, the site will still be managed and maintained by Sean Bennick, and the high standards set by Sean will be kept up. With the change in ownership we expect to be making changes to the website to bring on more authors and content. The goals of the site remain the same and Mental Health Matters will remain focused on providing information to those coping with Mental Illness.

About Mental Health Matters

Mental Health Matters was founded to supply information and resources to mental health consumers, professionals, students and supporters. While the percentage of people facing a diagnosable Mental Disorder in any given year is substantial, the acceptance of these problems can be hard to come by. Essentially, Mental Health Issues are hidden illnesses. The need for an anonymous avenue for consumers and supporters to gather information is very real and very large.

Mental Health Matters was founded and run for 5 years by Judy Castelli. Judy sold the site in June of 2001 in order to focus on her other site, Multiple-Personality.com. As the new owners, our goals for the site are not much different from Judy's. We would like to see the site grow and flourish into the best Mental Health resource on the web.

Sean Bennick, is the administrator and webmaster of Mental Health Matters and is responsible for day to day operations.

Consumers

Mental Health Matters's main purpose is to provide a structured source of information about mental health issues. To this end, Mental Health Matters offers detailed technical briefs on a variety of disorders, issues, symptoms, treatment modes, and medications. With this information, we hope to educate consumers and guide them towards intelligent decisions in their pursuit of Mental Health.

Supporters

Friends and family members of those with Mental Illness will be able to explore the site and gain insight into the disorders their loved ones face. Information about how they can help is a key feature of the site.

Students

Mental Health Matters also provides information for students to continue their education about Mental Health issues, providing them with access to their peers and anonymous consumers for the exchange of ideas and information. Our primary goal in dealing with those studying Mental Health is to provide real experience about the population they will be treating and assist them in becoming competent professionals. This will hopefully help to improve the quality of care available. The ability for students to post papers will also help them educate others on the site, and gain exposure.

Professionals

The professional market will find a wealth of knowledge on the site from a variety of sources. Content provided from Consumers will provide a unique point of view and a better understanding of their patients. Other professionals will offer deeper insights into the topics and a chance to interact with peers from around the world.
